Our wish? Bring you a robust answer on the performance of your product.
Are you developing skincare products, new galenic forms?
To help you target their actions, we offer different approaches for evaluating their skin absorption and their effectiveness.
Skin absorption
Our tests are carried out using human skin explants and on diffusion cells we specially designed (and which can be modified according to the needs of the project). All our tests follow the recommendations of the OECD guideline N° 428.
Cutaneous absorption test
Principle
- Product test (active or finished product) in standardized condition
- Human skin placed in a diffusion cell
- Extraction and dosage of the molecule of interest in the different skin layers
Objective
- Measurement of bioavailability
- Development and decision support
- Control of the absence of skin penetration (sunscreen)
Evaluation of new active delivery concepts
Principle
- In new products to be tested: incorporation of a fluorescent tracer (molecule or active labeling)
- Diffusion cell absorption test
- Visual localization and quantification of the tracer in the skin by confocal microscopy
Apps
- Suitable for all formulations or form of topical application
- Development and decision support
- Tools for screening and proof of concept
Evaluation of the efficiency
Evaluate the effectiveness of your ingredients or finished products with innovative methods.
Our tests are carried out using our skin model maintained in survival mode allowing to study many claims.
And since we like to take up challenges, you can ask us for “claims” that are out of the ordinary!
Anti-aging – Marker analysis
- Test conducted on cultured human skin
- Test product applied by topic or systemic ways
- Immunolabelling of cellular markers
Anti-glycation
- Chemically induced glycation
- Analysis of the quality of the dermis by histological staining with Masson’s trichrome
- Immunolabelling of specific proteins
Anti-aging – analysis of collagen
(partnership with Kamax Innovative System)
- Evaluation of the effectiveness of the treatment after repeated application of the product
- Quantification of the quality of collagen fibers and dermis density by XPolar® technology
Repairing of the skin barrier
- Test conducted on cultured human skin
- Chemical, mechanical, or physical alteration of the skin barrier
- Treatment with a cosmetic product (new concept, active ingredient, or finished product)
- Objective assessment of treatment efficacy through:
- Measurement of skin layers thickness
- Analysis of ceramides in the stratum corneum
- Immunolabeling of skin proteins
Slimming
- Test conducted on human skin with hypodermis maintained in survival
- Topical skin treatment according to customer recommendation
- Assay of glycerol release from adipose tissue
- Analysis of the adipocytes morphology (density and size)
- Comparison with a benchmark product
Soothing/anti-inflammatory
- Chemically induced inflammation
- Topical application (finished product or active ingredient)
- Analysis of cytokine secretion in the culture medium
